Closure of CHS Sixth Form, is anybody bothered ?

Postby DragonMaster » Sun Mar 30, 2014 12:49 pm

The announcement that CHS intends to close the Six Form college was made months ago, but there is hardly any fuss about it on this forum.

The 'deadline for objections is Monday 7th April.

Is anybody bothered ?

The decision to close the 6th form was taken by the governors some time ago, there was a public meeting held for anyone to attend to express their concerns and I understand about 12 people turned up. There has been much made of the decision since but ultimately the it has been made by those appointed to run and manage the school - and I am confindent that if there was an alternative then that would have been chosen.
Im sure that the CV's of our local councillors and MP's would be boosted by the acheivement of saving a villlage 6th form but that doesnt make it the right decision! I think its a shame to lose the facility but in the absence of any significant number of students wanting to attend (my own children included) then really is there any other option.

If it ain't getting used often enough then it's inevitable it will close and should close to help stop wasting money as these things tend to do

It seems that those who are wanting to go to a 6th form college have opted to go elsewhere. There is no, or very little, demand locally.
Lets stop the political posturing, wasting time, money ,effort or whatever, and let it close =D> =D> =D>
