19th Warrington Scouts in Culcheth
The 19th Warrington Scout Troop is looking to increase its Scout numbers and provides an interesting and varied programme of activities and events catering for 10 – 14 year olds.
We meet, at Culcheth Methodist Church on Ellesmere Road, on a Monday evening between 7.30 and 9.15.
Scouts take part in a wide range of activities as part of the interesting programme provided. A key approach is active "Participation" and a “hands on” approach with scouts being encouraged to try new activities and take part. Scouts take part in a balanced programme that helps them to find out about the world in which they live, encourages them to expand their own abilities and the importance of keeping fit and helps develop their creative talents. It also provides opportunities to explore their own values and personal attitudes. Additional to the practical skills and values, scouts will also practice the skills of: planning, problem solving, communication, leadership and team work which are much needed skills as they progress to adults.
Being outdoors is of course important and our Programme also includes taking part in both the traditional Scouting skills, such as camping, survival and cooking as well as the wide range of adventurous activities, anything from abseiling to yachting.
We two main two camps each year: a Weekend Winter Camp in March and also an eight day Summer camp to put into practice many of the skills learnt and practiced on Monday nights.
So if any boys or girls, between the ages of 10 – 14, are interested in joining please ring Dave Sanderson on 01925 762951 (E) or 07989 134054 (D) or pop down on a Monday night to see us and what we do.
We also have a CUB section that caters for 8 – 10 year olds which also meets on a Monday night. (between 6.30 – 8.00) and Beaver Section that meets on Fridays (5.15 – 6.15) for younger children.
